The Tilton Inn was purchased by new owners in mid 2010 and has been closed for renovations. It was our fortune that Souhegan Paranormal Investigators was able to conduct a second investigation on December 11, 2010. We had invited our very good friend and EVP Specialist/Sensitive, Frank Castellano to join us on this investigation. As we have often been told, conducting an investigation when renovations are being done will either enhance paranormal activity or contain the activity. We were fortunate that evening as the spirits were ready to greet us.

We arrived at 5:00 p.m., conducted our walk-through and then set-up our command center.

History:  There are many stories about paranormal activity at the Inn, one of which was about a young girl named Laura who died in a fire at the Inn over 100 years ago. In the late 1800's, the Inn was a rooming house. There was a fire, and a 12 year old girl named Laura died in the fire. It is now our understanding that there were a total of three fires at the Inn. We are not sure in which fire Laura may have died because we do not have the dates when each fire occurred. Attending the investigation was, Sue, John, Patti, Michelle, Debbie, our newest SPI member, Eric, and our good friend, Frank. The investigation proved to back up some of the events mentioned above.

Our Arrival:  Upon our arrival, Frank had an experience as he entered the door of the hotel that leads into the front foyer of the Inn. He immediately felt a thick atmosphere as well as vibrations in that area that were very strong. He expressed to us that the staircase had an exceptional pull, so he placed one of his EVP recorders on a nearby end table. The EVP's mentioned below were captured on this recorder as we were entering the lobby area.

1. Front Lobby – Eric and Frank had just walked into the front lobby, and John was behind them (still outside) carrying in the last of his gear. You can hear Eric's breathing, and then a disembodied voice saying "Sit down" at pos :01 which was not Frank or Eric. The three of them had just arrived so first of all a request to sit down would be unusual, and secondly no one responds to it. 

2. Front Lobby – Frank, Michelle, and Eric found some religious literature on a table and were perusing the literature in the front lobby area. During their discussion of the literature, the following paraphrase was said, "If you don't believe our way then you will burn in hell for eternity!" This next Class A EVP was captured:  At pos :11, you will hear a disembodied young ladies voice say "Stop it!". We do believe this might be the voice of young Laura who is claimed to have died in one of the fires at the Inn, yet her spirit at the Inn seems to be very much alive.

Note:  Compare the voice in EVP #2 of the little girl saying "Stop it!" to the voice in EVP #50 of the little girl saying, "Thank you" and "Don't go."  We believe the voice in these two EVP's are that of the little girl Laura who perished in one of the fires at the Inn.

3. Front Lobby – We   were setting up our gear in the base command area when this EVP was captured.  You will hear Frank saying, "You guys....exactly..." and at position :11 is a word that sounds like a quick "Hello" that may be being said by a young boy. Right after the hello, you can hear Eric say to Michelle, "You better keep that."

While unpacking our gear, Frank went to the men's room.  The closer he came to the men's room, the stronger the feeling became that someone was standing in the corridor - watching, and it wasn't one of us.
