Private Residence in Contoocook, NH
(Third Investigation)

We were called upon by the homeowner to conduct a third investigation in Contoocook, NH, to gather additional evidence to determine what type of paranormal activity is really happening on the property. If you read the summaries from our first two investigations, you will have a feel for the events that the homeowner has been experiencing. New events began happening in June. The homeowner revealed that she is doing renovations in her home. The following are some of the new events that are happening:

·       While in bed at approx. 6:00 a.m., the homeowner felt a pressure on her chest and the sheets began fluttering really fast like something walking back and forth. The homeowner felt a breath in her face and heard purring in an ear. Though there are cats that live in the house, the bedroom door is kept closed at night. This occurred 4-5 times. The homeowner heard the song "Help" by the Beatles as if it were being played on the radio. There was no radio turned on. The homeowner felt like someone/something was attempting to contact her that needed help and replied, "Whoever is out there, I will try to help you if I can." A whispered voice was heard replying, "I want you to come with me. I want you to come here." The word "here" was emphasized.  

·       While she and her fiancé were painting in the kitchen, she felt a "pinch" on her backside. Her fiancé was on the opposite side of the room.  

·       One morning, her fiancé awoke to the sound of a marble or something sounding like a marble rolling across the floor. When he got out of bed, the sound stopped.

Members of SPI, Sue, Chris, Mario, Irene, Elisha and our guests Distant Wolf and Dianne attended the investigation. Distant Wolf is a Medium/Shaman, and Dianne has mediumistic talents. They accompanied us in hopes to gather information concerning the type of paranormal activity (if any) that might be going on. The night was somewhat eventful with personal experiences, but we gathered very little in the way of pictures and EVP's.

Personal Experiences:  

When first entering the home during the walk through, Elisha was in the downstairs bathroom and heard flute music playing. She looked outside to see if anyone was outdoors that might possibly be playing some sort of music. There was no one outside.

Sue and Elisha were in the boy's room at the beginning of the investigation and saw a very quick white flash go by as if it came out of the television and went toward the ceiling. At this same time, Distant Wolf and Dianne were coming out of the master bedroom and saw the same flash appear in the hallway and go down the stairway. While in the boy's room, Mario had a spell of anxiety that caused him to have to step outside the room. He was then able to regain himself. 

While in the master bedroom, Mario had a vision of a woman wearing a pug. Though he couldn't really see a face, he saw she was wearing gold, round rimmed glasses. He got the name Mary and "knew" there were four more letters to this name, but did not know what they were. The woman was standing with a pointer in one hand. The setting appeared to be in a one room schoolhouse that had a pot belly stove with a tall stack pipe. Mario is not psychic. This was information he received while lying on the bed in the master bedroom, just as when the homeowner (who is not psychic) while in her bedroom heard information about the song "Help" being played on the radio and heard words being whispered in her ear.

The latter part of the evening, Sue, Chris, Mario, Irene, Elisha, and Dianne were in the kitchen doing some EMF/EVP work. Distant Wolf was outside taking pictures. Mario asked, "Are you here, Mary?" The EMF meter lit up to an amber color. A minute or two later Mario said, "I felt your presence in Dawn's room" and the meter lit up again. A few more minutes passed, and Mario said, "Is your name Mary?" Irene then began to say, "If your name is not Mary...", the meter then lit up again. A few minutes later Mario asked, "Are you waiting for Dawn to come home?" The meter lit up and then Mario said, "You are?" and the meter lit up again.

The end of the evening, Sue and Elisha went back to the boy's room to do some EVP work. Sue said, "When Mario and Irene were up here (meaning upstairs) earlier, Mario captured the name Mary.  Does that name sound familiar to you?" At position :10, there is a beep that we are all pretty much familiar with that we often hear on an answering machine when someone says, "Leave a message."   Sue, nor Elisha heard that sound with their naked ear. It was only heard when we played back our EVP's. We tried to attach the sound to some type of electrical equipment that was in the room such as cameras, the camcorder, etc., but we couldn't relate it to anything. Immediately, after that question, Sue asked, "Did you live in the 1900's?", and the EMF meter lit up to amber. 

Unfortunately, the house was not very active that night, but the next morning was filled with a frightening experience. The homeowner had left the premises for the entire night so that we could conduct our investigation. Upon her return home on Sunday morning, she was looking for one of her cats (she has three cats and they are all indoor cats) and found the cat stuck behind a large wooden drawer that is located in her upstairs bathroom. The drawer had been opened halfway, a piece of wood on the drawer was broken, and the cat was found behind the drawer. No one in our group, including Distant Wolf and Dianne, had gone in that bathroom. The homeowner explained that because something like this occurred many years ago, everyone in the house is extremely conscience of not leaving any of these drawers opened. (There are three drawers altogether.) When found, the cat was exceptionally frightened and remained in a state of fright the following day. We do not know what happened, but we feel the spirits may be angered because the homeowner is planning to move.

I asked Distant Wolf, based on his findings, if he would write our client his theory of explanation. Below is his letter to our client:

"During our stay at your home, we found it to be quite busy when we first arrived, with spirits. However, just like you, when you returned home Sunday morning, I also felt very uneasy entering your home for the first time. The longer we were there, the less active it became (to us that is). I'll never speak of anyones feelings or personal experience's other than our own because what happens to us just might not happen to anyone else.

Later on that night, I did some work on the outside of your home. While I was taking pictures, I found what we believe to be the mist of many spirits. They were in front of your home, facing to the left side. A very large mist that left a perfect X on the side of your home and to the left of the house by the shrub tree, it cast out to look like the shape of a butterfly. Then on the right side facing the house under the big tree, I again saw a large mist. I have both of these mists on photos. Along with what some might call orbs, under the same tree as the mist, and then again in the rear of the house way above the peak of the roof is possibly an orb there as well. Again, I have them on photos.

It is my feeling that both the mists and orbs are the spirits from inside your home. This night was too confusing for them with so many people investigating, asking questions, snapping pictures, moving around, and such that they went outside. That is why we felt the difference from first getting there to when we started the investigation."
