Investigation at Private Cemetery – Southern, NH
July 22, 2011 

On July 22, 2011, SPI had the privilege of conducting an investigation at a private cemetery in Goffstown, NH. This cemetery is the burial place for several hundred people whose names are unknown. Our mission was to attempt to collect some evidence in hopes to begin to learn who these people were that are contained in this burial ground. Attending the investigation were Sue, John, Debbie, Eric, and Michelle. 

We began the investigation at approximately 6:45 p.m.  The evening was a bit uneventful until approximately 8:53 p.m. when Sue captured a photo of a large mist moving from the side of the cemetery toward the middle of the cemetery.  Just to the side of this mist was a very bright orb.  (See photo #10-P7210110 that shows the orbs/mist.)  At this time, Sue was sitting by the big tree located somewhat in the middle of the cemetery.  The rest of the folks were in an area by the flagpole conducting a KII session along with an EVP (electronic voice phenomena) session.  This session was being held in the area where the mist was developing.  Sue walked over to where the session was being conducted to show everyone the picture of mist she had just captured.  She was then informed of the experience that Michelle was having that involved what we call the “cobweb sensation”.  The cobweb sensation is a feeling that you sense on your body that feels like you had just walked into a cobweb.  Yet when you attempt to brush the cobweb away, the feeling doesn’t leave immediately nor is there any cobweb matter on your hand.  In the paranormal field this sensation is known as ectoplasm.  (See photo #11-076 that shows Michelle experiencing the cobweb sensation.)  Note the very large orb watching Michelle and John. 

When Sue had left to join the others near the flagpole area, she had left her voice recorder on her chair.  She left it running to see if she might capture something on it.  Upon reviewing her voice recorder consisting of this timeframe, she found she had captured the sound of “walking” in the woods.  (EVP #8).  This might have been an animal, but it does not seem to have the characteristics of an animal walking, running, or hopping in the woods. 

When the session being conducted near the flagpole was over (approx. 9:05 pm), Sue returned to her chair near the big tree that is located somewhat in the middle of the cemetery. She began her EVP session by telling the spirits that they would need to speak loud and clear because of the sirens that were sounding as fire trucks and police cars were passing by. At approximately 9:07 p.m., she captured an EVP that sounds like someone saying “um”. (EVP #9) and a photo of a tombstone that was directly in front of her that was enveloped with mist with a good sized orb just to the right of the tombstone (Photo #12-P7210115). She also posed another question to the spirits asking them if there was anything they could do to keep the mosquitoes away. With her camera positioned over the back of her shoulder, she took more photos and captured some amazing pictures. (See Photo #’s 13-P7210139, 14-P7210141, 15-P7210142, and 16-P7210147.) During her photo session, Sue told Michelle about the mist and orbs that she was capturing in these photos. Michelle joined Sue and began taking pictures at the same time, but did not capture any of the orbs and/or mists in her photos. This was truly uncanny. We cannot explain why Sue was able to capture them in her photos, yet Michelle did not. 

Toward the end of the evening, Sue once again asked the spirits to get rid of the mosquitoes. It was at this time that she captured EVP #11 which is a loud exhale that sounds like it was very, very close to the recorder, and she also captured a photo with an extremely bright solid white orb. (See photo #19-P7210162) As Sue was walking out of the cemetery, she turned back to take one more picture behind her and captured photo # 20-P7210169. 

Note:  This was the second uncanny event that happened during the evening’s investigation.  Everyone else was being bitten by mosquitoes constantly throughout the entire evening.  However, it seemed that the mosquitoes were not aggressively invading Sue the way the others were bothered by them.  Could it be because Sue had called upon them to rid her area of mosquitoes?  We will never really know the answer to that question, but it certainly seemed that way. 

Though this write-up mostly mentions Sue’s activities during this investigation, please do not be misled.  John, Eric, Debbie, and Michelle were very active conducting their own EVP sessions and taking pictures.  Below are some of the EVP’s captured during their personal and joint sessions that were conducted. 

EVP’s:  EVP’s are best heard when hearing earphones.  Please use them for your listening pleasure. 

1.      Debbie was alone in the cemetery and she captured this EVP that says, “Ah-choo” at pos :02.  

2.      Michelle and Debbie were investigating a section of the cemetery by themselves. Michelle was telling the spirits that the flash from the camera would not hurt them. She said, “Also too, all these flashes that you see that’s coming at you will not hurt you” and at pos :08 we can hear a very distant word that sounds like “wow”. We do not feel that any of us would have had any reason to say this because there was no discussion going on among us.

3.      Debbie was walking away from the back of the cemetery. At pos :05 is a whispered "Hurry, get her" and at pos :08 is a whisper that sounds like "Okay". 

4.      Eric was walking around the cemetery just getting a “feel” for it. On his voice recorder he picked up the name “Ashley” at pos :01. This was definitely not any one of us. 

5.      Eric, John, Debbie, and Michelle were conducting an EVP session around the flagpole. They got a few hits on the KII meter to indicate that there was some spirit energy around them. Michelle asked, “Who are you?” At pos :02 there was a reply that sounds like “Polish Chuck”. This definitely sounds male. Michelle then said, “Yes – who are you?” 

6.      John and Michelle were in the middle of the cemetery near the big tree with their voice recorders on. This anomalous voice was captured on each of their recorders. Michelle, who is a sensitive, also heard it with her naked ear, but John did not hear it. At pos :03, we can hear what sounds like a male (perhaps a young boy) calling out the word “mom”. The voice is very distant sounding which tells us the spirit was not close to the recorder. They searched around the area to see if there was anyone else nearby the cemetery that could have cried out the word “mom”, but they could not find anyone. We feel that if this were a human who was speaking, they would have captured more than just one word being spoken. 

7.      Sue was sitting in her chair in the middle of the cemetery near the big tree. She was being quiet and trying to listen. At pos :14, she captured this word that sounds like “aw”. 

8.      We were all over in the corner of the cemetery when Michelle was having her experience near the flagpole. Sue had left her recorder on her chair in the middle of the cemetery. At pos :13-:16, I am hearing what I think might be footsteps. We cannot completely rule out that this could have been an animal in the woods. However, it doesn’t seem to have the rhythm of an animal walking or hopping. 

9.      After the session around the flagpole, Sue went back and sat in her chair that was positioned in the middle of the cemetery. She said, “You can hear those sirens, so you’re gonna need to talk real loud” and at pos :13 I hear a faint “um” as if in reply to her statement. 

10. Sue was drawn to tombstone #89. Debbie was showing her where it was. Sue said, “This one?” and Debbie replied “Yup”. Sue then said, “That one is 89”. At pos :11-:13 we can hear something that sounds anomalous saying “um um um um um”. You can then hear Sue say, “Okay”. If there are owls in the area, this could possibly have been an owl. 

11. During another session while Sue was sitting in the middle of the cemetery in her chair, she was attempting communication with the spirits and said, “If you can do anything at all to get rid of the mosquitoes while we’re here tonight…” and at pos :15 is a loud exhale. I’m sure that wasn’t me because I wasn’t walking around huffing and puffing.
