The 1875 Inn at Tilton, NH - Paranormal Night
April 24, 2010
SPI was invited back to The 1875 Inn at Tilton for paranormal night on April 24, 2010, to
present the evidence we collected from our March 20th, 2010, investigation. Representating SPI were Susan
Allen, Lead Investigator, Patti Basiliere, Case Manager, and John Basiliere, Tech Manager. We spoke to an
audience of 53 people.
After the guests enjoyed a fine meal, Joanna Oliver, our gracious hostess and proprietor of The
1875 Inn at Tilton, gave a presentation that included the history of the Inn and of the resident ghost,
Laura, who is said to still reside at the Inn. During her presentation, she mentioned that she was once told
by a psychic that she had 30 entities that stay at the Inn. The evidence we collected from our investigation
concluded that there were two that we know about - Laura who died in a fire at the Inn at the age of 12, and
a second younger girl that we estimate to be about 4 yrs. old.
When Joanna concluded her oration, SPI began their presentation. Upon introducing ourselves to the
audience, Sue exploited questions that are often asked such as, "Have you found proof that there is life after
death?"; "Can a person interact with those that have passed over to the other side and those that have not?", etc.,
etc. Patti discussed terminology that is often used in the paranormal field and provided descriptions as best we
know them. John offered a "show and tell" session describing to the audience the equipment we use during our
investigations and showing how each instrument works. While John was explaining the Cell Sensor (EMF) Meter, the
cell sensor lit up reacting as if to tell us there was some unknown energy around us. Debbie LaValley, a guest
in the audience was kind enough to send us a video clip that she captured when the Cell Sensor went off. To
view the video clip that Debbie captured, please visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu8dKi5ZbLE The same thing happened when
he was showing and explaining the KII Meter. The KII meter actually lit up to the amber light which is the third
light out of the five lights on the meter. This also alerted us that there was energy around us that we were not
aware of and that the energy might have been that of an entity. Though we did not see it ourselves, there
were a couple of guests that told us while we were talking and not looking at the meter, the lights lit up all
the way to red. Again, Debbie LaValley was kind enough to send us another clip that shows the Cell Sensor
Meter lighting up and blinking as well as the KII Meter lighting up and blinking. Please click on this

We concluded the evening by showing a video clip of an energy spike (which we believe to be a
ghost) that we had captured during the investigation. We attempted to make available to the audience some
EVP's (electronic voice phenomena), but unfortunately they were too faint and could not be heard very well.
However, we were able to have the audience listen to one of the EVP's we captured during the investigation
when we were asking Laura if she was in the Mary Baker Eddy Room with us, and there was a female response
that said either, "I'm here." or "I am."
We want to thank Joanna for inviting us to join her for this event. We also want to thank Joanna's staff
for their hospitality and Nick, the infamous chef for his wonderful meals. It appeared that the audience found the
evening to be fun, informative, and pleasurable. Please follow this link to view some of the photos that were taken
