Paranormal
Investigating
The field of paranormal investigating has
become a current event among serious ghost hunters. We look for the
truth.
-
Is there life
after death?
-
Can we interact
with those that have passed over to the other
side?
-
Can we "touch" a
ghost or a spirit?
-
Can
we communicate with them?
-
Where do these
entities go when they leave the earthplane?
-
Can they see us
and can we see them?
-
Can they do
harm?
-
What are
orbs?
-
What is
ectoplasm?
These
questions and many, many more are at the helm of the inquisitive mind. A paranormal
investigator can hope to find these answers by reading books on the paranormal and by participating
in paranormal investigations. There is an actual science to researching these answers. There is some
specialized equipment and some not so specialized equipment used in paranormal investigations.
Research the Internet to learn about what is available. Do a Google search on
paranormal investigating
equipment and/or a search on books about the
paranormal.
When called upon to conduct a
paranormal investigation, it is important to interview people who have had one or more
paranormal experience on the property and that you clearly understand the information they
are providing. Be sure your investigation equipment is in working order before your
arrival to the property so that you can quickly prepare. Locate the "hot spots" and set
up equipment such as video cameras, DVR recorders, infrared cameras, EMF Meters, etc.
Make sure the EVP recorders and digital cameras as well as any other kind of camera is
working.
At the least, the following rules should
always be followed:
-
When beginning an
investigation, Always pray to the
White Light and ask for protection. You can do this alone or in a
group.
-
When ending an
investigation, Always pray to the
White Light to not allow any entities to attach themselves to you nor to follow
you home. They MUST stay
behind. You can do this alone or in a group.
- Never investigate
by yourself. (We never know what we
might encounter.)
-
Always be
respectful of the dead and address them with dignity.
-
Always be
respectful of other people's properties.
-
Never
investigate unless you have the proper permission.
-
Always have
extra batteries on hand.
Why Some Paranormal Investigators
Prefer To Investigate at Night:
-
Cosmic radiation at night is
lower.
-
"Light" is frequency and "absence" of
light makes it easier.
-
"Light" and "sun" emit a
frequency. The frequency is lower at night and higher during daylight. The
lower frequency makes it easier for IR (infrared) cameras and our vision to pick up
something paranormal.
-
It is quieter at night allowing our
keen senses to be more alert.
Some Tips on Paranormal
Photographing... As mentioned in the book titled "How To Photograph The
Paranormal" by Leonore Sweet, PH D, there are a few tips you can apply when photographing the
paranormal.
-
Moist air is a better energy conductor
than dry air. Take indoor pictures during storms and outdoor pictures right
before the storm or just after it hits.
-
International Ghost Hunters Society
recommends the colder months (Oct-Feb) for the most productive vortex, ectoplasm, and
apparition photographs. The claim is that is when the electrostatic energy is at
its highest.
-
Colors are said to relate to a soul's
advancement in the spirit world. Typically pure white denotes a younger soul and
with advancement soul energy becomes more dense, moving into orange, yellow, green and
finally the blue ranges.
A
word about Ghosts... As
explained in Hans Holzer's book "In Search of Ghosts", and I quote Mr. Holzer, "Ghosts generally do
not travel. They do not follow people around, and they rarely leave the immediate vicinity of
their own tragedy. Once in a while, ghosts roam a house from top to bottom, or may be
observed in the garden or adjacent field. But they do not take buses and appear at the other
end of town: those are free spirits, able to reason for themselves and to attempt
communication with the living." Some people believe that ghosts and spirits are one in the
same. They are not. According to Mr. Holzer, and I quote, "Ghosts are similar to
psychotic human beings, incapable of reasoning for themselves or taking much action. Spirits,
on the other hand, are the surviving personalities of all of us who pass through the door of death
in a reasonably normal fashion. A spirit is capable of continuing a full existence in the
next dimension, to think, to reason, to feel, and to act, while his unfortunate colleague, the
ghost, can do none of these things. All he can do is repeat the final moments of his passing,
the unfinished business, as it were, over and over until it becomes an obsession. In this
benighted state he is incapable of much action and ghosts are therefore nearly always
harmless. Not all ghosts are very nice, but they were once all human. Their
personalities stay the same unless they cross over. Ghosts do not fade away over the
centuries; they are present for all enternity, unless someone makes contact with them through a
trance medium and brings reality to them, allowing them to understand their predicatment thus free
themselves from their self-imposed prison. The moment the mirror of truth is held up to a
ghost, and he or she realizes that the problems they feel are insoluble are no longer important,
they will be able to leave." Very simply put, ghosts are souls of deceased people who have
chosen not to go to the other side. Each ghost has its own reason why it chose to stay
here.
A word about
EVP's... Often times we are asked, "What are EVP's?" EVP is the acronym for
Electronic Voice Phenomenon. An EVP is an intelligible voice from a deceased person and
is often times captured during an investigation on a recording device such as an EVP recorder
or a regular tape recorder or another type of recording device. Throughout our pages of
investigations listed on our website, we have included some of the EVP's we have captured.
Please keep in mind that an entity/spirit speaks on a different frequency than we do.
Therefore, it is sometimes difficult to understand exactly what they are saying. Paranormal
investigators and others who seek to capture EVP's say that they have developed a
listening "ear" to distinguish a real EVP from background noise. The words may be spoken very
quickly, and seldom will an entire sentence be captured because their speech fades in and out
due to the frequency levels. We are proud to say that during our investigations, we have captured
some phenomenal EVP's. We know that due to our own personal experiences, along with the EVP's that
we have captured, that we have indeed "communicated" with the other side.
A word about
Ectoplasm...As stated in
the Wikipedia Dictionary, the definition for Ectoplasm (from the Greek ektos, "outside", +
plasma, "something formed or molded") is a term coined by Charles Richet to denote a
substance or spiritual energy "exteriorized" by physical mediums. Ectoplasm is said to
be associated with the formation of ghosts and hypothesized to be an enabling factor in
psychokinesis (known as PK). Ectoplasm is said to be produced by physical mediums when
in a trance state. This material is excreted as a gauze-like substance from orifices on
the medium's body and spiritual entitites are said to drape this substance over their
nonphysical body, enabling them to interact in our physical
universe.
A word about
Orbs... Science is quick to explain orbs as dust balls, pollen, or
other such impurities in the air, and they are right to do so because often times we find that
to be true. However, some psychics say that these orbs look much like the manifestations of
spirit energy that they see and often times we find this to be true. Therefore, based
on both of these descriptions, we can then say there are true paranormal orbs and false
orbs. Experience is the key to determining a true orb from a false orb. Contrary to
belief, orbs do not have to be perfectly round. Sometimes they appear in different
shapes such as rectangles, etc. They can also appear in different colors. It has been
said that the color of an orb may determine it's advancement in the spirit world. Groups of
like-minded spiritual individuals who are accepting of, and desiring their presence, are known to
attract orbs. Orbs do not seem to be affected by the change in seasons. They can be
captured any time of year.
Cluster
Orbs... Clustered orbs can
resemble orbs captured while photographing in the rain or in a dusty area. However, there is
an orb phenomena called "clustering". This is why it is important to take the noted
precautions listed below. Clusters of orbs are common in very haunted places. Take
several photos from the same position, one after the other. If your photos reproduce the same
picture over and over, chances are you captured a series of pictures containing false cluster
orbs. However, if you get one photo with a cluster of orbs, and the next photos
with fewer orbs or none at all, chances are you have captured a photo showing a cluster of
true orbs.
There are ways to aide in determining a true
orb from a false orb Many things can cause false orbs. Following the
suggestions listed below may help you when investigating the
paranormal:
1. It is a personal preference to photograph outdoors
after a rain storm or a thunder storm. Moist air is a conductor of energy.
If it has recently rained, the moisture in the air can easily look like an orb(s) and create
a false picture of an orb(s). On the other hand, moist air conducts energy and could aide in
capturing a true orb or even better, an apparition. You can attempt to tell the
difference by quickly snapping photos in quick succession. If there is rain or
impurities in the air, you will be able to reproduce it again and again in a succession of
photos. If it is not, you should get one photo with paranormal phenomena and the
next without many, if any at all.
2. Do not take a picture in the area where someone
has just sneezed. Wait at least 20 minutes after the last sneeze and then be sure the lens is
clean.
3. Avoid windy days. Wind can stir up
dust.
4. When outdoors, you will find that bugs can reflect
in your flash and look like strange creatures or odd balls of light. Experience will help you
to be able to tell the difference.
5. When investigating inside a dusty place such as a
basement or attic, sit quietly for at least 20 minutes to allow any dust that may have been stirred
up to settle.
6. Try to be aware of any environmental factors
including miniscule reflective surfaces (such as you would see in a
tombstone).
7. To avoid lens flare, do not take photos in the
direction of a light source.
