Who Murdered
Dr. William Dean of Jaffrey, NH?
CC The Huntress
Event Held on August 13, 2010
CC The Huntress, also known as CC Carole, a famed
paranormal investigator from Merrimack, NH, held an event at the Monadnock Inn in Jaffrey, NH, the evening of
August 13, 2010, which was also the 92nd anniversary of the infamous Dr. William Dean’s
death.
The event was a mix of intrigue, perusal of evidence
from the crime scene, and the paranormal. Dr. William Dean’s murder
on August 13, 1918, was not by accident. It was
planned. To date, the murder has never been solved. CC The Huntress had hoped that by bringing the facts and the paranormal
together some clues might surface that could be added to the already known facts in the case. In 2009, Souhegan Paranormal Investigators had the opportunity to conduct
two investigations on the Dean property where the murder took place. To read about the case, please click on

All guests took part in the evenings’
events. We met at the Monadnock Inn at 4:00 p.m. Upon everyone’s arrival, we carpooled to the site of the murder which is now
owned by the Deschenes family. Rob Deschenes was waiting
for our arrival. He gave a speech reciting the details of the murder and shared with us
quite a bit of literature he had on display about Dr. Dean's murder. He also gave us a tour of the property showing us the exact spot where the
barn once stood where Dr. Dean is thought to have been murdered. He then led the group to the cistern where
Dr. Dean’s body was found wrapped in a horse blanket and tied with ropes.
After leaving the site of the murder, the entourage
went to the Rindge Historical Society Museum in Rindge, NH, where the sleigh and fur coat that once belonged to
Dr. Dean is on display. We all did a little EVP work while roaming around the museum. Sue captured these
EVP's during the visit to the museum. In this first EVP, CC The Huntress is talking with a group of people
and explaining about EVP's. You will hear her say the words "...fear of public speaking", and just as the
word "speaking" is being said, you will hear a very sharp "yuh". As CC continues her conversation, you
will hear a disemboided voice say "uum" five times throughout the rest of the conversation.
In the next EVP Sue captured, you will hear CC talking about heat meters and EMF
meters. When you hear her say, "...so if you've got energy that passes this, this one will go off", listen
closely right after the word "off" and you will hear a disembodied voice say "umhum".
After visiting the Rindge Historical Society, we returned to the Monadnock Inn for a
wonderful dinner and a round table discussion.
After dinner, Bill Driscoll, a past president of the
Jaffrey Historical Society, gave a presentation and displayed quite a few of the items collected at the crime
scene that have been under lock and key since the murder in 1918.
On display was Dr. Dean’s blood stained socks and his shoes that he wore the day of his demise. The blood stained horse blanket along with the ropes that were used to tie Dr.
Dean were also on display. A hairpin that had been found at the
scene was shown to us. Dr. Dean’s wife had a habit of writing the
temperature of the weather on a calendar each day. Bill Driscoll
presented us with the calendar which shows that after Aug. 13th, there were no more entries on the
calendar. As a matter of fact, the entry made on Aug.
13th read “Bill die.” The words died or dies were not
used. It read, “Bill die.”
Susan Allen, the Lead Investigator for Souhegan
Paranormal Investigators (SPI) also conducted a presentation and spoke about SPI's findings upon completing
their paranormal investigations on the Dr. Dean property. She
had pictures to show of an apparition that was captured on film with a digital camera and a second picture of
what is known as a clustered orb or an angelic entourage. These
terms mean that contained within the orb is essence, angels, guides and teachers. These pictures can be seen by visiting the photo gallery of the August 13,
2009 investigation. Pictures From
Private Residence, Jaffrey, NH (Second Investigation) August 13, 2009. Also, for their listening pleasure, she provided the audience with an
EVP captured during the June 20, 2009, investigation which either says, “Oh, Lorraine, Lorraine” or “Oh, Loren,
Loren.” EVP stands for electronic voice phenomena which is a
disembodied voice not heard with the naked ear, but captured on a handheld device called a digital voice
recorder. If you would like to listen to the EVP that was
captured, please click on . This EVP was emailed to an EVP specialist in Boston, MA, and
confirmed to be genuine.
After the presentations, a round table discussion was
held as to theories and ideas of who may have killed Dr. Dean.
Though there is no concrete proof to date as to “who did it”, the consensus of opinion is that there were some
politicians, German sympathizers and German spies who may have all had a hand in the murder. As mentioned earlier, this was a preplanned murder.
The evening ended with a ghost hunt led by CC The
Huntress. To listen to the EVP’s captured during the ghost hunt

A few days after this event was held, I was contacted
by Rob Deschenes who lives on the property and shares ownership of the Dean property with other family
members. After he arrived home from this event, he went
outside to take some pictures. He captured several pictures containing red mist and anomalies. At first he
thought there may have been a problem with his camera, but upon inspecting it, there didn’t seem to be anything
wrong with it. Out of a series of 5 consecutive photos that he took, the first and last pictures did not have
any red mist in them or any anomalies. Over the next few evenings, he went out again and captured more of the
red mist in some photos; yet, not in others. Prior photos
taken on this property had never contained red mist. Upon your perusal of these photos taken by
Rob, we will let you decide for yourself what may have caused this red mist. Along with photos taken from the
Dr. Dean murder event, Rob’s photos may be viewed by visiting our photo gallery. Please click on this link:
